The Lilac City Early Learning Center staff is excited to add to our team. We are looking for a dependable, caring teacher to serve as a classroom assistant or aide, working with our Preschool or Pre-Kindergarten group.

Applicants could also be considered for Float staff positions that work in multiple classrooms with more flexibility for scheduling; college students are encouraged to apply for this.

Job duties include:

To arrive ready to work at scheduled time and be prepared to stay until shift is over

Plan both long and short range activities in accordance with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practice and program philosophy.

Meet the emotional, social, physical and cognitive needs of each child

Assist in completing quarterly assessment of children's development

Participate in Parent-Teacher conferences

Maintain daily open communication with parents

Maintain confidentiality

Arrange a classroom environment in accordance to program goals and philosophy

Maintain a safe and healthy environment

Inspect and replace damaged or lost materials

Attend in-service and staff meetings

Supervise aides and volunteers in the classroom

Keep all appropriate records such as attendance, medication, incident reports and time sheets

Meet all applicable licensing regulations

Wear child friendly clothing and accessories

Update and maintain online records through MERIT

All applicants must have, or be willing to obtain upon hire, Negative TB Test (past 12 months), Proof of MMR and COVID-19 Vaccination or Exemption, Blood Borne Pathogens training, WA Food Handlers Certificate, Infant/Child CPR & First Aid Certification, DCYF Background Check, DCYF Mandatory Trainings (online) and 30 Hour Basic STARS training (within 90 days of hire).
